The Ministry of Women and Child Development of the state Gujarat has launched the prestigious scheme “Vahli Dikri Yojana” for girls, which roughly translates to “Dear Daughter Scheme”. The concept of the scheme is to improve the girl child birth rate by strengthening the socio economic status of the girl child in the society, preventing their dropout rate and preventing their marriage as children, thereby promoting positive mindset change in the society.
Gujarat government is running Vahli Dikri Yojana for the girl child of the state. Under this Vahli Dikri Yojana, the state government will provide education incentive and Rs 1 lakh to the first and second daughters of the family. This one lakh assistance amount will be provided when the girl attains the age of 18 years. People can fill the application form of Vhali Dikari Yojna to get help and can avail the assistance amount given under the scheme. Gujarat State Government has introduced Vhali Dikri Yojana 2020 to improve the sex ratio, which currently stands at 883 girls per 1000 boys.
